Rosell Meseguer (Spain, 1976). Visual artist & PhD in Fine Arts, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Currently lives and works between Santiago de Chile and Madrid.
She is been shortlisted to be part of Plat(t)form 2013, Fotomuseum, Winthertur, Zurich, finalist in the Pilar Citoler International Award 2014 and awarded with the First Prize Fundación Aena 2007 Photography. Her work is in collections such as Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo CA2M; AENA Foundation; Caja Madrid Obra Social or the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. She has made presentations of her work in spaces such as Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía or Manifesta 8, as well as exhibitions in MataderoMadrid, The Photographers´ Gallery, London; Matucana 100, Santiago de Chile; or the Museo Leopoldo Rother in Bogotá.
Her work developed in different media – photography, installation, file, publications, drawings, painting and video – is linked to the investigation of the historical process and its socio-political and economic consequences. It analyzes the construction of history and the creation of methodologies of documentation that have been developed in several research stays in M.O.MA., New York; Tate Britain, London or the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
She is been part of the research group: Decolonizing knowledge and aesthetics between Goldsmiths London and MataderoMadrid.
