Lucía Simón Medina (1987, Santander, Spain) is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and researcher. She studies interdisciplinary art and experimental drawing at University of Art Brunswick and was graduated in Fine Arts at Universidad de Castilla La-Mancha.
Her practice explores, through hand drawing, the limitations of language, thought processes, and geological, biological, and computational temporalities. She investigates the relevance of aesthetics in the search for the invisible that lies at the heart of data mining and the geopolitical economy from which it emerges.
Her work has been shown at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Art Encounters Timisoara; Akademie der Künste Berlin; Museum für Konkrete Kunst Ingolstadt; Centro Parraga, La Casa Encendida in Madrid and Ars Electronica, among others. She is also a member of the Viennese collective laschulas.
