Noé Sendas (1972, Brussels). Rather than recounting absences or evoking memories, Sendas explores the idea of “pause in movement”, fixing the instant in which time seems suspended in the artist’s subjectivity. Between the real experience and the dream there is a silence that confronts the viewer with the strangeness of his own perception and simultaneously with the artist’s own unease and discomfort. Because, in the end, this restlessness is the starting point of his projects, or perhaps, of all artistic projects.
